NUSeq is committed to providing state-of-the-art genomics technologies, including next-generation sequencing, to Northwestern biomedical research.
NUSeq brings together highly sophisticated genomics instrumentation and technical know-how to Northwestern University researchers. NUSeq is the only Northwestern University core facility dedicated to genomics research support. The Core support investigators on the Evanston and Chicago campuses, and Northwestern-affiliated institutions, including Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Lake Forest Hospital, Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, etc. In addition, NUSeq also serves other academic and commercial institutions in the Chicagoland region.
NUSeq accomplishes its mission through
Providing cost-effective, full service and equipment support to core users, from experimental design, sample preparation, data generation, to data analysis;
Developing new genome research methods, and providing customization/optimization to meet specific needs of individual researchers;
Providing consultation, education, and training to students and researchers on the conduct of genomics experiments and bioinformatics data analysis;
Fostering interaction and collaboration between investigators and research units on endeavors pertaining to genomics research.
NUSeq is supported by Center for Genetic Medicine, Feinberg School of Medicine, and Northwestern University Office of Research. NUSeq is established from the merging of the previous Genomics Core Facility and Next Generation Sequencing Core.
