Core facility that specializes in multi-omics data analysis, particularly within the realm of downstream statistical modeling and analysis. Statistical analysis of multi-omics data presents a unique set of challenges, from handling diverse data types to uncovering complex biological interactions.

The Fisher Drug Discovery Resource Center (DDRC) guides researchers in drug discovery by improving the efficiency of their bioassays, identifying compounds and molecular targets, and in utilizing technologies for the measurement of drug/receptor interactions. The center has a collection of 420,000 compounds, along with semi-automated liquid pipetting devices, computational techniques and supports a broad diversity of bio-assay techniques, typically found in drug discovery programs. The center also has spectroscopic and biophysical instruments for use in studies of the interactions of drugs with their targets.

The Genomics Resource Center offers comprehensive services and state-of-the-art instruments to support genomics research. The approximately 3000 sq. ft. center houses an Illumina NovaSeq, two NextSeq500s, one MiSeq sequencers, a 10X Genomics Chromium Single Cell System, and Life Technologies QuantStudio 12K flex realtime PCR system. The center also provides several accessory instruments for sample quantity and quality validation: Agilent Bioanalyzer, Agilent TapeStation, NanoDrop spectrophotometer, and Qubit spectrophotometer.

For the next-generation DNA sequencing service, the center offers full services for genomic DNA-Seq and RNA-Seq, specializing in preparation of libraries from a very small amount of starting total RNA. Users can also prepare their own libraries and use the center’s sequencing-only services. The center offers free consultations on experimental designs, library preparation options, sequencer choice, sequencing depth and coverage, and biological replicates. The center performs initial sequencing data analysis for all users, and can assist with downstream analysis.

The center is staffed by five personnel and is directed by Connie Zhao, Ph.D. Dr. Zhao received her Ph.D. in molecular genetics from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and did postdoctoral studies with Jeff Friedman at The Rockefeller University. She has led the center since 2003. In her role as the Director of the GRC, Dr. Zhao has been very successful in implementing new technologies, adding SNP genotyping, micro RNA profiling, next-generation DNA sequencing, and single cell assays. The center is staffed during regular business hours and is accessible 24/7 with valid RU key cards. The center offers several instruments for use by trained users at no charge.

The staff is highly experienced in processing various biological samples, including tissues, cultured cells, bacteria, viruses and subcellular fractions for morphologic analysis by electron microscopy.

A wide variety of services are provided. EMRC provides full service (you "drop-off" your samples) or, depending on your interest and the nature of your work, technical support so that you can do your own work with our support. We offer you support in planning of experiments, training in sample preparation, use of equipment and data analysis. All necessary training and assistance is available.

The Bio-Imaging Resource Center provides researchers with training, advice and access to instrumentation and image analysis software for state-of-the-art optical imaging using widefield, confocal, multiphoton, light-sheet and super-resolution microscopy. Consultation on sample preparation and immunolabeling procedures is also provided. Researchers are trained to use the microscopes and image acquisition software themselves, with staff assistance when necessary to ensure collection of high quality images. More complex work can also be performed on a collaborative basis with the staff of the center.

State-of-the-art Flow Cytometry Resource Center. Cell sorting is performed for extended hours by staff. Analysis and cell sorting are offered as self service with 24/7/365 access to the fully trained users.

Data Science Platform focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Signal Processing, Computer Vision with the aim of advancing the research of Rockefeller Laboratories. DSP owns and operates fully dedicated computing infrastructure, equipped with state of the art GPUs and large storage capabilities.

The Evelyn Gruss Lipper Cryo-Electron Microscopy Resource Center makes sophisticated new cryo-electron microscopy tools available to University researchers, allowing for the visualization of three-dimensional structures of molecules and macromolecular complexes in solution.

The Proteomics Resource Center (PRC) at The Rockefeller University offers analysis of biomolecules and peptide synthesis for The Rockefeller University community on a subsidized, cost-recovery basis. The Center is also available to other not-for-profit institutions. The Center is located in the south eastern part of The Rockefeller University campus in The Rockefeller Research Building: RRB157. The Center is guided by and reports to a Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) on a regularly basis.

The PRC team members are analytical chemists with expertise in proteomics, metabolomics and peptide chemistry. The corner stone of the Center is liquid chromatography (LC) and mass spectrometry (MS) which we apply to proteomics, metabolomics, lipid and small molecule analysis – see examples of projects analyzed by the Center.

The Center is equipped with nano-flow as well as higher flow LC. The majority of our instruments are of the Orbitrap type which offer high mass accuracy and high resolution. A triple quadrupole mass spectrometer is also available. The Center is equipped with, and has expertise in using, a wide array of software for data analysis. The goal of the Proteomics Resource Center is to extend the limits of sensitivity and broaden the range of tools provided to investigators by implementing and developing novel and useful analytical techniques. To achieve the above we operate in a boutique style, encouraging the PRC scientists and users to collaborate to create a tailored approach to fit the many unique questions that can be answered using our tools and expertise. On a yearly basis, the Center is working with approximately 200 individual users and handles 500+ sample requests making the Center the to-go-to place to discuss proteomic concepts, experiments and data analysis

Precision Instrumentation Technologies (PIT) provides access to various fabrication and rapid prototyping tools for qualified users. The shop allows users to design and build their own research tools by providing access to a wide array of prototyping and fabrication equipment, as well as design and fabrication consultation.

The CRISPR and Genome Editing Resource Center provides gene targeting and mouse embryonic stem cell technology for members of the Rockefeller University, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and their collaborators.

Since its inception in 1997 our center has generated numerous genetically engineered mice and embryonic stem cell lines that allow the investigation of gene functions in mouse models or ES cell culture systems. We continue developing and adopting innovative approaches to better assist biomedical research in our community.

CRISPR and Genome Editing services include mouse genomic knock-out and knock-in, mouse conditional knock-out, establishing new ES lines for gene targeting services, establishing ES lines from mutant mouse embryos, preparing ES cells introduced from off campus resources for injection or other application, assisting in embryoid body culture and in vitro differentiation of ES cells, and purification and evaluation of DNA for pronuclear injection.

The Transgenic and Reproductive Technology Center (TRTC) provides the scientific community with four services such as Pronuclear Injection, Blastocyst Injection, Embryo and Sperm Cryopreservation, Strain Recovery and Rederivation. Assisted reproductive techniques such as IVF and ICSI are used for strain recovery.

The LCP, providing support to researchers at MSK, WCM and Rockefeller, provides integrated pathology services to ensure laboratory animal colony health and provides research pathology expertise for animal models of specific human disease conditions. Models supported by the LCP include: mice, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, pigs, dogs, nonhuman primates, frogs and fish. Genetically modified animals (GMA) vital for translation studies are the primary animal models for investigating phenotypic expression of targeted genotypes for insight into complex disease mechanisms. Novel GMAs must undergo thorough phenotypic analysis in order to validate the model\'s significance and value, especially when extrapolating to humans.

The LCP enhances your research activities by providing flexible, efficient and cost-effective solutions.

The imaging core provides investigators with access to electron, confocal, TIRF and fluorescence microscopy equipment. Equipment housed in the facility includes an Hitachi 7500 TEM, an Hitachi 4700 field emission SEM, a Zeiss 510 META confocal microscope system on an Axiovert 200 inverted fluorescence microscope, a Zeiss ConfoCor2 fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) system , an Olympus FV300 confocal microscope on an Olympus IX70 inverted fluorescence microscope, an Olympus FV1000 MPE multiphoton system for intravital microscopy, an Olympus IX83 cellTIRF microscope, a Nikon Eclipse i80 upright fluorescence microscope and a Nikon TE300 inverted fluorescence microscope. Computer workstations and equipment for live cell imaging are also available. Applications using this equipment include TEM, SEM, spectral imaging, multicolor confocal/fluorescence microscopy, FRET, FRAP, FLIP, FCS, TIRF, ratiometric calcium and biosensor imaging and standard fluorescence imaging.

The Epigenomics Shared Facility (ESF), part of Einstein’s Center for Epigenomics and an Illumina CSPro (certified service provider) laboratory, offers massively-parallel sequencing (MPS) including fully-automated library preparation, quality control and assurance, and a number of assays to study the genome/epigenome. Data analytical services are provided by the Computational Genomics Facility. The ESF supports diverse assays for MPS analysis and strive to bring cutting-edge technologies. Core which provides methodologies, technology and infrastructure to support investigators in the use of human islets for research studies for the Einstein-Mount Sinai Diabetes Research Center. It isolates and prepares human and rodent islets/beta cells and cell lines for investigator-initiated research and generates specific viral vectors (adenovirus and lentivirus) for gene delivery of cDNAs and shRNAs of interest to beta cells and other islet cell types.

Core provides information and tools for Einstein and Montefiore investigators from initial study planning stage through analysis and data output. Facility services include: mass spectrometry analysis, including stable isotopes, as well as research-grade determination of lipids, and metabolic markers for human subjects and animal model projects; High-throughput robotics for semi-automated high-quality sample preparation and analysis by immunoassay and liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC/MS); Support for novel developmental projects featuring applications of LC/MS and two-site bead-based assays;
Research quality analysis of metabolites for human and animal samples using Olympus AU400 autoanalyzer; Advanced training in analytical chemistry.

Core services include consultation, technical support and training and mentoring in clinical and translational research methods that are specifically applicable to diabetes, its complications and related metabolic disorders. Personel provides expertise in first-in-human and mechanistic studies in integrative physiology, in clinical trials of diabetes and obesity, and in application of new technologies.

Core Facility provides functional genomics expertise using CRISPR-Cas9 and state-of-the-art RNAi techniques (Mir-E shRNA and arrayed siRNA), high throughput screening (HTS), and high-content screening (HCS) using confocal microscopy services toward the discovery of novel cancer targets and elucidation of complex, aberrant cellular pathways. The Core offers assistance, consultation and training in range of cloning, customized library design, lentivirus production, assay development, arrayed and pooled screening, and image analysis considerations to assist researchers in harnessing these powerful gene perturbation target ID tools and drug screening methodologies. Offers CRISPR-mediated transcriptional activation / interference (CRISPRa/CRISPRi) technologies and barcode libraries for lineage tracing. These are combined with retro- and lentivirus delivery systems, customized stable isogenic cell line generation (knockout, HDR-directed knock-in, knockdown, base editing, and prime editing) toward the generation of unique cancer cell line models. We curate a small molecule chemical library of >140,000 compounds in 384 well format.

The Clinical Grade Production service is a class 10,000 cGMP facility responsible for the bulk product manufacture, purification, and characterization of clinical-grade materials. In addition, we offer vialing of sterile investigational products such as peptides, proteins, carbohydrates, and adjuvants. The service also conducts lot release tests – which are required for products release for preclinical and investigational use — either in-house or with validated contract vendors.

Core is a full-service facility that prepares agents developed by MSK researchers to be used as investigational drugs in preclinical or clinical studies. The Core comprises three principal groups: the Pharmaceutical Product Facility (PPF) for drug formulation/stability and preparation; the Clinical Grade Production (CGP) Facility for bulk product manufacturing, purification, and vialing; and the Pharmacy Investigational Drug Service (PIDS), which develops, procures, prepares, and validates the preparation, packaging, and distribution of investigational drugs for clinical use. Core services include: formulation, analysis, and evaluation of drug release rates; prediction of interactions; and determinations of compatibility and physical stability of medications. Based on the expertise of the RP Core, MSK has been able to bring into early-phase clinical trials multiple types of pharmacologic agents, including traditional small molecules, radiopharmaceuticals, and vaccines.

Mouse Genetics Core Facility (MGCF) provides technical support to facilitate the generation and utilization of genetically engineered mouse (GEM) models for MSK investigators and the surrounding biomedical research community. The services provided by MGCF encompass three broad areas of expertise; 1) molecular and cell biology platforms cover design and assembly of genome engineering reagents, such as CRISPR/Cas9 and genetically engineered mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells; 2) these reagents are then brought into sophisticated mouse embryo micromanipulation platforms to generate GEM models; and 3) reproductive- and cryo-biology platforms allow for rapid GEM cohort expansion, rederivation of GEM lines, and GEM resource archiving. MGCF also provides consultation and training for wide aspects of GEM model development and application to aid in successful GEM projects.

Biobank and Pathology Core provides resources for human biospecimen-based research to be used to study causes, detection, prevention, and treatment of cancer. The Biobank is MSK’s central facility for the collection, processing, storage, and distribution of fresh, frozen, and FFPE-processed human biospecimens (tissues, blood, bone marrow, urine, and other liquid samples) for research use. Core also serves as national resource, as evidenced by the several hundred samples from multiple tumor types that have been provided to the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and NCI’s CPTAC proteogenomic consortium. Histology Service within the Core facilitates selection of appropriate specimens for tissue analyses and provides the basic services of cutting, dissecting, and staining of fresh-frozen and formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues. It includes construction of tissue microarray blocks and laser capture microdissection for isolation of pure cell populations and tumor cell enrichment. The Core’s Immunohistochemistry Service provides immunostaining using optimized antibodies for clinico-pathologic research studies.

Core functions include cancer biology, medicine, chemistry, physics, radiochemistry, pharmacology, and engineering. Provides investigators with radionuclides and to incorporate these radionuclides into radiolabeled diagnostic and/or therapeutic pharmaceuticals for both basic research investigations and patient formulations.

Core supports animal model use in cancer research through teams including Research Animal Resource Center (RARC) and Laboratory of Comparative Pathology (LCP). Animals are employed in the development of new methods for diagnosis and treatment of cancer as well as the elucidation of the basic biological mechanisms resulting in neoplasia. CCMP’s professional and paraprofessional staff (152 FTE) serve as a consultative and technical resource for MSK investigators on all matters related to animal research.

The SBio Core provides expertise, advanced equipment, and leading software to support structural investigations. The Core maintains cryoEM equipment, including two Krios electron microscopes and computational resources for data collection, processing, and structure determination. These resources include graphical workstations and integration with MSK’s high-performance computing clusters, supporting the analysis of large proteins, complexes, and macromolecular assemblies. The Core also has biochemistry and crystallography expertise, as well as access to synchrotron beamlines at Brookhaven National Laboratory and Argonne National Laboratory. The Core provides training and assistance to users, collaborates with MSK groups on projects involving macromolecular crystallization and structure determination, and offers modeling expertise and guidance, thereby enabling labs to use available structural data in experiment design and interpretation.

Core offers suite of animal imaging modalities, including MRI, PET, CT, SPECT, and ultrasound, all commonly used in clinical settings, enhancing the likelihood that findings in animal models will be translatable to human patients. Key instruments include 7.0T and 9.4T MRI systems, PET/MR, PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and advanced ultrasound systems, alongside specialized equipment including a small animal radiation therapy unit and variety of ancillary tools for advanced imaging analysis.

This facility offers investigators the ability to monitor chemical reactions, analysis of mass and molecular structure, separation of materials, determine mechanisms, purity, stability, biological uptake, and other properties of chemical compounds, and intact mass analysis of proteins and their conjugates.

Core supports MSK investigators who wish to capture self-reported information from culturally diverse patients, caregivers, clinical staff, and community members. The faculty of the PRO-CEL Core are nationally recognized social and behavioral scientists and community engagement experts who provide technical assistance to all users throughout multiple stages of research, including grant and protocol development, research study assistant and support staff training, and result dissemination. Provides methodological support for clinical trial, behavioral, and population-based research that seeks to engage community or minority populations in their preferred language.

The Biotherapeutics Core Facility (BTCF) serves as the bridge that translates research discoveries into clinical applications, specializing in tech transfer, process development, and cGMP manufacturing of cellular products for clinical trials. BTCF partners with investigators across MSK to advance cell and gene therapy programs from bench to bedside, providing support for IND CMC submissions and Phase 1/Phase 2 clinical manufacturing.

**Tech Transfer & Process Development**
BTCF translates research-laboratory processes into GMP-compliant manufacturing workflows ready for clinical use. Services include process design and optimization, scale-up, development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and batch records for cell processing, cell engineering, and vector production, and process qualification. For each clinical program, BTCF develops a comprehensive set of Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs) and testing plans to support IND CMC filings and ensure product quality and safety.

**cGMP Cell Therapy Manufacturing**
Full-scope cGMP manufacturing of autologous and allogeneic cell products, including patient cell handling from purification and transduction through expansion and final formulation, in support of Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials.

The mission of the GMP-compliant Organic Synthesis Core is to provide chemical synthesis services to Center members through a state-of-the art facility staffed by expert personnel in chemical synthesis. The Core operates at the interface of chemistry, biology, and medicine, and has the capability of supporting medicinal chemistry efforts to produce and develop lead candidates and tool compounds in support of Center investigators. The work of the Core has facilitated preclinical studies at the Center. The Core synthesizes novel molecules that are not readily available, either by following described procedures or by developing new and more suitable methods of synthesis.

The core supports early discovery and in vivo testing of antitumor detection and therapeutic agents. The ATA core works closely with investigators to establish preclinical models, including Patient-Derived Xenograft (PDX) and Organoid (PDO) models, and to design and execute pharmacokinetic (PK), tolerability, and in vivo efficacy studies in various mouse tumor models. Additionally, the Core performs GLP-compliant safety toxicology studies in support of IND applications for both diagnostic and therapeutic agents (small molecules, cell therapies, biologics) and can conduct PK studies in support of Phase I-II clinical trials.

The Flow Cytometry Core Facility at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) offers advanced instrumentation together with high-level technical and scientific expertise in multi-dimensional flow cytometry and cell sorting to support both internal MSK researchers as well as external investigators. The core maintains a comprehensive suite of conventional, spectral and imaging analyzers and high-speed sorters, and supports both assisted and unassisted operation modes. Staff provide support in experimental planning, panel design, data analysis, hands-on training, and other operational support such as instrument setup and troubleshooting. Trained users have 24/7 access to analyzers and unassisted sorters, while assisted scheduling and staff-run services are available for more advanced or instrument-dependent workflows. The facility’s mission is to accelerate discovery, improve data quality, and expand the scope of flow cytometry–based research across MSKCC, as well as other organizations.

The Proteomics laboratory supports laboratory and clinical research programs by performing mass spectrometry-based analyses of proteins and peptides, for identification, relative quantitative analysis, and post-translational modification (PTM) analysis.

The Metabolomics laboratory enables high-quality metabolomics research by providing advanced mass spectrometry–based analyses, including targeted and untargeted metabolomics and lipidomics, as well as stable isotope tracing to interrogate metabolic flux.

The Bioinformatics Core at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center provides a wide range of computational services to support researchers with varying expertise in computing. Our services include standard bioinformatics pipelines such as variant calling, RNA-Seq, and single-cell RNA-Seq, along with custom analysis workflows for novel data types. We specialize in advanced areas like spatial proteomics, AI-driven analysis, and developing tools like web apps and databases. Additionally, we offer data management, high-quality graphic generation for publications, and comprehensive support for grant writing. The core also provides training and consulting in computational methods and stays updated with the latest Bioinformatics advancements.

Core provides expertise on study design and statistical analysis. Devoted to developing and understanding ways to derive scientific inferences from quantitative data and to developing methods for achieving this aim. The staff are highly trained in this field and experienced in all of the specialized areas of statistical techniques including clinical trials methodology, survival analysis, epidemiologic methods, analysis of genomics data, statistical genetics, methods for diagnostic medicine, health services research, survivorship, evidence-based medicine and psychometric methods.

The Immune Monitoring Facility (IMF) provides translational research support for immune monitoring during cancer immunotherapy. Robust immune monitoring assays are essential for characterizing the immune status in patients receiving novel immune-modulating therapies, and the insights gained from studying the immune response in treated patients may help transition promising therapies from the clinical trial phase to standard of care. The IMF supports a variety of clinical research activities including standardized processing and cryopreservation of numerous clinical samples on a daily basis from patients on experimental cancer therapies, development and validation of immune monitoring assays, and correlative sample analysis using these assays to evaluate immune responses in patients enrolled in various immunotherapy trials. The facility utilizes highly specialized technologies to analyze both cellular and soluble protein biomarkers with the ultimate goal of identifying biomarkers that correlate with clinical responses which can then guide clinical decisions regarding the patients that may benefit most from specific immunotherapy regimens. Services and assays provided in the facility include, but are not limited to: (1) PBMC and serum/plasma isolation from human whole blood and sample cryopreservation; (2) Multiplex cytokine immunoassays; (3) Immunophenotypic analysis of immune cell subsets by multiparameter flow cytometry; (4) Evaluation of T cell antigen specificity and function by intracellular cytokine staining and ELISPOT assays.

The Stem Cell Research Core stocks, characterizes, and distributes human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) lines. Performs variety of hPSC-related applications for the stem cell community at SKI and beyond. We are a part of the Starr Foundation-funded Tri-Institutional Stem Cell Initiative that provides shared stem cell expertise and resources among Memorial Sloan Kettering, Weill Cornell, and Rockefeller University.

The IGO provides services and expertise to Center investigators interested in evaluating gene expression, chromosome structure, and nucleotide sequence on a broad scale. Enables basic, clinical, and translational research projects across the Center. Through its production group, the Core enables genomic and transcriptomic analyses and has the expertise to process challenging samples from all origins (tissue, dissociated single cells and cell pellets, paraffin curls, blood, serum, etc.). Bulk DNA/RNA assays operate in highly automated environment, from sample reception to sequencing library preparation.

Core delivers specialized histology, microscopy, and cytogenetics services for detection in situ (cells, tissue sections, organoids, and whole mounts) of biomarkers (proteins, glycoproteins, lipids, nucleic acids) and molecular processes in normal and pathological conditions. Performs comprehensive antibody validation on cells and tissues, trains investigators in basic staining principles and assists with experimental assay design and downstream analysis. Core maintains four whole-slide scanners and provides support for quantitative whole-slide analysis. Microscopy and dedicated image analysis staff provide support for simple or complex analysis pipelines.

We are a team of product development professionals who help institutions and their investigators comply with FDA regulations in the development and manufacturing of investigational products (drugs, biologics, devices) for human clinical trials. Our main work areas are:

NYU Langone's High Throughput Biology Laboratory is a shared resource dedicated to aiding researchers in the innovative development, optimization, screening, and imaging of mid- and high throughput assays.

We support researchers by providing high throughput and high content screening services and equipment. These include the latest in automated liquid handling, imaging technologies, and multimode plate readers. In addition, we deliver logistical, technical, and bioinformatics support in the performance and interpretation of your experiments.

NYU School of Medicine’s Preclinical Imaging Laboratory provides investigators with access to state-of-the-art imaging technologies and strategies to image live animals at the organ, tissue, cell, or molecular level. Our technologies are indispensable to researchers studying and monitoring disease in small living subjects. Built in partnership with the Department of Radiology, our newly renovated, 4,000 square foot facility opened in May 2016 and enables researchers to perform noninvasive and nonlethal three-dimensional imaging. The lab is equipped with powerful instruments for micromagnetic resonance imaging, micropositron emission tomography, X-ray microcomputed tomography, bioluminescence and fluorescence scanning, and high-frequency ultrasound. Our instruments are located conveniently throughout NYU Langone’s facilities on First Avenue in Manhattan. Trained researchers can use them upon approval and for a fee. Devices are located either within or outside the pathogenic barrier and near the various vivaria, providing expanded access and support to investigators conducting diverse biomedical research projects. We welcome investigators conducting short-term evaluations of animal models or efficient longitudinal studies. The lab is directed by Youssef Zaim Wadghiri, PhD, associate professor, Department of Radiology, and has four full-time staff.

NYULH‘s is a comprehensive light and electron microscopy imaging facility dedicated to bringing state-of-the-art methods in contemporary imaging and digital analysis to biomedical scientists with all levels of expertise. The NYULH Microscopy Laboratory provides access to highly specialized equipment and unique expertise, including:

1. Light microscopy technologies include high-throughput, transmitted-light, wide-field fluorescence, laser scanning confocal with spectral detection, TIRF, ratio FRET, FLIM, FCS, FRAP, multi-photon, lightsheet fluorescence microscopy and single molecule localization.
2. Electron microscopy services include negative staining, rotary shadowing, morphological analysis with chemical or high-pressure freezing fixation method, on-section immunolabeling with acrylate-based resins or Tokuyasu cryo thin section method, whole-mount and preembedment immunolabeling, correlative light and electron microscopy, and volume electron microscopy with serial sections, electron tomography, and SBF-SEM.
3. Image analysis using various software, such as Imaris, ORS Dragonfly, Volocity and ImageJ.
4. Consultations and 1-on-1 assistance with issues of experimental design and instrument usage
6. Storage, processing, annotation, and analysis of imaging data

The Ion Laboratory, also known as the IonLab, is a new electrophysiology core facility that is part of the Ion Channels and Transporters in Immunity Research Program directed by Stefan Feske, MD, in NYU Langone’s Department of Pathology. The IonLab facilitates research in the area of ion channel and transporter function and ionic signaling in immune cells, but welcomes users who are studying other cell types or organ systems.

Led by Director William A. Coetzee, DSc, the IonLab services are available to all investigators at NYU Langone, regardless of whether they have prior experience in measuring ion channel currents, transporter function and ionic signaling. The lab is also available to investigators in the larger NYU community, other academic institutions in the New York area, and industry partners.

The day to day operations of the lab are led by Soomin C. Song, Operations Manager, and Jerome Petit-Jacques, Assistant Director, who are available to assist users with experimental design, training, implementation, and data analysis.

The mission of the Center for Biospecimen Research and Development (CBRD), Histology & Immunohistochemistry Laboratory is to assist researchers and clinicians with the molecular and morphologic characterization of normal and disease tissues of interest in support of biomarker discovery and translational research. The center operates a full suite histology laboratory that offers both routine and advanced histology immunohistochemistry, in situ and whole slide scanning services.

The Precision Immunology Laboratory at NYU Langone studies immune cell phenotype and function, characterizes antitumor immune responses, determines mechanisms of immune escape and evasion, and develops biomarkers that predict patient outcomes or possible toxicities. Offers services for immune monitoring,provides expert knowledge that guides choice of technologies used for study, coordinates purchase, quality control, and use of reagents. Stand-alone services include high-quality cell processing and storage to support correlative studies. These services allow convenient batched analysis of trial samples.Staff purifies peripheral blood mononuclear cells daily from clinic visits and another staff member is available for on-demand and after-hours processing. Samples are cryopreserved on-site in temperature-monitored LN2 freezers for short-term storage. For long-term storage, samples are transferred to Novare Biologistics,off-site cGMP-compliant, New York State-licensed, and FDA-registered biorepository.\\nRoutinely assess quality of processing and cryopreservation. Core meets performance targets for cell viability and recovery necessary for certification by Integrated Biobank of Luxembourg. Offers service for isolating tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes using dissociation protocols optimized for various tumor tissues. Offers flow cytometry at Perlmutter Cancer Center, along with expert service and training. Sterile fluorescence-activated cell sorting (17 colors) is routinely performed with options for high-speed (50K cells per second), single-cell deposition (into polymerase chain reaction plates), and BSL-3 sorting for unscreened or infected human material. Data analysis workstations are also available.Offers single-cell analysis through our cutting-edge 30-parameter flow cytometry technology and Integrated Molecular Cytometry Platforms (IMCPs).

Core provides services, access to instruments, and training to facilitate production of animal tissue samples for morphological and molecular analyses. Supports multiplex immunofluorescence staining, RNA in situ hybridization (ISH), and imaging analysis. \\nServices include tissue preparation, processing, and sectioning, as well as histochemistry and immunohistochemistry of fresh, frozen, and fixed animal tissues, can optimize and validate commercial or proprietary antibodies for chromogenic or fluorescence-based immunohistochemistry including seven-color multiplexing.Provides access to database listing antibodies that have been tested in lab to date and are currently in stock.Offers basic imaging resources and digital whole-slide scanning of stained tissue sections, which allows researchers to view their slides online at their convenience.Researchers can also rent our self-service instruments. NYU Langone’s Metabolomics Laboratory offers custom metabolomics services to our investigators and the greater scientific community. We specialize in mass spectrometry–based metabolomics, offering global (untargeted) and targeted methods for metabolite identification and quantification.

Commonly assayed targets include glycolytic and tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle intermediates, amino acids, nucleotides, and lipids. Using a custom-targeted method, we can perform absolute or relative quantification, flux analysis, and biotransformation analysis.

Our untargeted platform enables the detection of several thousand metabolite peaks from a typical sample of cells or tissue, focusing on either hydrophilic or hydrophobic metabolites. These data can be used to identify differentially regulated features, candidate markers, metabolite structures, and more.

The Rodent Behavior Laboratory at NYU Langone offers equipment, facilities, and expertise that enable investigators to quantitatively assess a broad range of behaviors in mice and rats. In addition, we help you generate rigorous and reproducible results on a variety of standardized testing protocols.

NYU Langone's Translational Research Laboratory provides investigators performing translational research with access to specialized technologies, advanced instruments, and research design support. Our staff can conduct research on your behalf or provide training on sophisticated equipment so you can perform complex studies on your own.We also provide immune monitoring services to support investigators working on phase I or phase II clinical trials. We follow the Minimal Information About T cell Assays (MIATA) guidelines for using validated immunological assays. All our services comply with rigorous quality-control standards.

Researchers using complex genetically modified animal models recognize that genotyping is tedious and time-consuming, with no room for error. NYU Langone’s Genotyping Core Laboratory provides fast, accurate, convenient, and affordable genotyping technologies. We use conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and gel electrophoresis methods. By pooling samples from a group of users, we can better ensure accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and quality control.

Our team of professional technicians and scientists has years of genotyping and troubleshooting experience, averaging 1,500 tails per month from an expanding library of more than 175 protocols.

NYU School of Medicine’s Center for Biospecimen Research and Development was launched as a partnership between the Office of Science and Research and the Department of Pathology. Our center’s mission is to drive scientific discovery through the use of human specimens. We help our investigators facilitate translational research, match human specimen resources to scientific needs, foster multi-investigator collaborative projects, and catalyze scientific innovation.

Our center is also focused on increasing clinical trial support for investigator-initiated trials, improving researcher access to existing biospecimen resources, and enhancing institution-wide tissue-banking efforts and capacity. Another priority is to implement a campus-wide policy for human biospecimen collection and storage to ensure regulatory compliance.

The Biorepository & Pathology Core supports tissue and body fluid procurement, storage, and tracking from consented and de-identified collections. Pathologists responsible for procurement can be contacted for consultation to determine investigator requirements for human specimens in translational and basic research and then arrange procurement as feasible.

Our basic histology services include the capability to process, embed, and section fixed and frozen tissues (both animal and human) for the Mount Sinai Health System and the external academic and biopharmaceutical community. Additional services include histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, in situ hybridization, laser capture microdissection, as well as a variety of special stains for routine light microscopic evaluation. We also offer full digital scanning capability with our quantitative and qualitative digital image analysis service (HALO), and support DNA/RNA/miRNA extraction from fluids and tissue specimens (both fixed and frozen) for downstream next generation sequencing and other applications.

Cryo-Electron Microscopy Core facility at ISM offers EM services with state-of art instruments (Vitrobot for sample preparation, Glacios-2 TEM for imaging biological samples at atomic resolution). We offer single particle analysis (SPA) workflow, imaging drug delivery products (ex: liposomes, LNPs, AAVs..)

The ISMMS Metabolomics Core provides end-to-end mass-spectrometry solutions for small-molecule research. Our team supports experimental design, ensuring proper handling, appropriate controls, and adequate statistical power, and then executes analyses on Thermo Orbitrap IQ-X and Agilent 6495D LC/MS systems and an Agilent 5977C GC/MS system. Using validated methods annotated against a library of 1,000+ compounds, we maximize metabolite and small-molecule coverage. We also offer untargeted profiling for biomarker and novel metabolite and lipid discovery, as well as stable-isotope tracing for measuring substrate utilization. Results are delivered with custom informatics and statistical interpretation for faster, more approachable insights.

The primary mission of the Human Immune Monitoring Center is to advance our understanding of the human immune system and to apply this knowledge to improve human health. We accomplish these goals by leveraging advanced technologies and our extensive expertise to provide comprehensive immune monitoring for clinical and translational research. Our team of experts excels in the characterization of immune profiles and treatment responses across a diverse range of diseases, such as cancer, autoimmunity, allergy, and neuro-immune disorders. We strive to strike a balance between advancing innovative immunoassays and optimizing standard protocols and operating procedures to ensure the highest standard of data quality and reproducibility.

Transgenic and Genome Editing (TGE) Center of Research Excellence (CoRE) is equipped with cutting-edge technology and highly trained staff to offer full model creation services for Mount Sinai investigators and external users from consultation until delivery of germline-confirmed genetically engineered mouse models (GEMMs). To this purpose, we employ the latest genome editing tools such as CRISPR/Cas9 to rapidly generate GEMMs with diverse genome modifications such as humanization, large insertion, conditional knockout, base substitution and deletion. Animals produced in the CoRE are thoroughly genotyped by our comprehensive genotyping services to ensure timely delivery of correctly edited models. In addition, the CoRE continues to support model creation via the traditional transgenesis and the gene targeting in the embryonic stem cells. Other services provided by the CoRE include sperm cryopreservation, in vitro fertilization, rederivation and custom embryology supports.

Situated within the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, our CoRE provides all members of the Mount Sinai Health System community with the instrumentation, expertise, and education required to incorporate flow cytometry and cell sorting into any research project.

The SCEC provides comprehensive services for the generation and characterization of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from somatic sources such as blood and fibroblasts, along with long-term cryobanking. The Core also offers access to a diverse collection of well-characterized iPSC lines derived from both healthy donors and patients with various diseases, representing a range of ethnic backgrounds and sexes.

A major focus of the SCEC is gene editing in pluripotent stem cells, with extensive expertise in CRISPR-based applications—from precise point mutation knock-in (correction or introduction) to the generation of reporter lines (e.g., GFP and other fluorescent reporters) and inducible systems such as Cre-lox, dTAG, and beyond.

In addition, the Core provides guidance and support for the differentiation of iPSCs into multiple cell types, using both monolayer and 3D organoid formats, enabling downstream disease modeling and functional studies.

RNA NanoCore is a Core Facility at the Icahn Genomics Institute (IGI), which is part of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. RNA NanoCore offer custom-made lipid nanoparticles and RNA technology to develop new therapeutics and nanomedicines.

The rapid pace of technological advancement in genome sequencing has created endless opportunity for novel discoveries across basic and translational sciences. To pioneer this data transformation, the Center for Advanced Genomics Technology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has built an extensive technology toolbox with unprecedented access to and application of novel and existing methods in a multitude of genomics technologies. These capabilities span bulk, single-cell, spatial, and in situ genomic sequencing methods, all of which are leveraged to generate complementary cross-platform, orthogonally validated datasets to foster novel discovery and advance clinical applicability using human cohorts and model systems

The CoRE provides access to an extensive collection of human postmortem brain tissues, including fresh, frozen, and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) specimens, along with detailed clinical histories and neuropathological assessments. Available histology services include processing and embedding, slide sectioning for FFPE and cryosections, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), and advanced RNA assays such as RNAscope, BaseScope, and miRscope. High-resolution digital slide imaging is performed using the GT450 scanner. CoRE scientists also collaborate with investigators and trainees to support project development, method optimization and troubleshooting, data analysis.

Facility provides access to imaging equipment and analysis tools. It houses widefield, laser scanning confocal, spinning disk confocal, multi-photon, light-sheet, and super-resolution microscopes, along with two transmission electron microscopes and high-content screener. Offers centralized workstation for image processing, high-performance computing capabilities, and data storage. Provides access to several commercial software programs for image analysis and data quantification. Services include consultations for sample preparation, training on the microscopes, full imaging support, and assistance with analysis strategies. Provides several services related to transmission electron microscopy: tissue/cell processing, image acquisition training or assistance, and image analysis support. CoRE scientists can collaborate with investigators to develop novel imaging methods and analysis approaches.

This facility currently provides optical and electron microscopy services. The facility is equipped with Nikon TIRF/SIM superresolution microscope, a Nikon A1R resonant confocal, a Leica TCS SP2 confocal, and a Perkin Elmer Ultra VIEW ERS Spinning Disc confocal. In addition to confocal microscopy, the facility is also equipped for bright field, phase contrast, modulation contrast and epi fluorescence microscopy. The facility has two separate wide field image analysis stations. A Nikon Eclipse E 400 microscope equipped with a color video system and Nikon Elements imaging software, and a Nikon Eclipse TE200 inverted scope. This inverted scope in specially configured to perform calcium ratio imaging is equipped with Nikon Elements for processing Calcium Ratio data.The facility has recently expanded with the acquisition of a JEOL JEM-100C/CX Transmission Electron Microscope. The facility also is equipped with Typhoon 9410 scanner for the quantization and localization of sub cellular fluorescent and radioactive molecules. In addition a Densitometer allows for the analysis of 1 and 2 D gels, Southern, northern and western blots and RFPL gels. The facility also has an Odyssey Infrared Imager.

Fast internet access is essential for genomics, proteomics, image analysis and collaboration in modern genetics research. The Smart Internet2 Computer and Video-Collaboration Informatics Facility has been established by the RCMI-funded Center for Study of Gene Structure and Function (Gene Center) to enhance the analytic and communication capabilities of the Gene Center’s researchers by exploiting Internet2 in conjunction with a smart computer and video-conferencing laboratory. Real-time interactions can occur between individuals or among groups at disparate locations. The facility is equipped with up-to-date video conferencing equipment in situ and with portable video-conferencing equipment for live communication of experimental procedures from the lab. The facility also contains twenty computers networked to gigabit speed data lines for research informatics projects and instruction. Smart software routes requests to Internet2-enabled resources through the Internet2 / Abilene backbone. Two adjacent rooms house rack-mounted servers that support the Gene Center, and accommodate the manager/operator.

The Live Imaging and Bioenergetics Facility at the CUNY ASRC will house three core instruments: 1) Zeiss LSM880 upright two photon confocal microscope with Airyscan, FAST model and CLARITY lens, 2) LSM880 inverted live cell imaging confocal microscope with Airyscan and FAST model, and 3) Agilent Seahorse XFe24 live cell metabolic analyzer.

The supported applications include: in vivo imaging of live animals, time-lapse live cell imaging with high-resolution optical sectioning, deep imaging of fixed CLARITY tissues, calcium imaging, photo switching and photo uncaging, Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching (FRAP), Förster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET), laser ablation, and measuring mitochondrial respiration and glycolysis in live cells in real time. The facility will also provide advanced imaging analysis software Imaris for data processing.

The Epigenetics Core Facility at the Advanced Science Research Center of City University of New York provides a variety of research resources and services that include: nucleic acid extraction and fragmentation, quantitative gene expression analysis, targeted DNA methylation analysis in specific genomic loci of interest, next generation sequencing (RNA-seq and ChIP-seq), and single cell genomics. The facility also houses an advanced cell sorter with biosafety protection for flow cytometry service. In addition, the facility provides services for RNAScope to allow for in situ hybridization detection of transcriptional targets with spatial resolution. NYU Langone’s Advanced Rodent Transgenics Laboratory (ART-Lab) is a resource for researchers who want to apply advanced molecular genetic techniques in rodent models of physiology and disease. Our lab is experienced at generating novel mutant and transgenic mouse strains using genome engineering in mouse embryos and in embryonic stem cells (ESCs).

Generation of genome-edited mice by embryo pronuclear microinjection of DNA and genome editors (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9, site-specific recombinases) or traditional BAC transgenesis.

The Population Health Data Hub is an innovative and centralized resource to improve access, efficiency, and support for research teams working with a wide range of data sources to study and address population health issues. We are part of a rapidly growing “data ecosystem” of research data hubs and related services at NYULH.

Our goal is to help Population Health PIs and Analysts solve their administrative and analysis issues. This includes data acquisition, storage, cleaning, analysis, and dissemination.

NYU Langone’s Environmental Exposure and Analytical Chemistry Laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility designed for trace-level analysis of anthropogenic organic chemicals in environmental and biological specimens, offering services to our investigators and the greater scientific community. We specialize in mass spectrometry–based analysis, including targeted and nontargeted methods.The laboratory is capable of quantifying nearly all the organic analytes monitored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) program. Commonly assayed targets include phthalates, bisphenols, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), glyphosate, organophosphate flame retardants, organophosphate pesticides, and other compound classes at biologically and environmentally relevant concentrations. Our nontargeted analysis workflows are capable of detecting hundreds to thousands of chemical features in a single sample, enabling the identification of unknown organic compounds without a priori target selection.Strong evidence shows that exposures from plastics, pesticides, and other anthropogenic chemicals disrupt endocrine regulation, with health effects extending from early development through adulthood. Building on research led by Prof. Leonardo Trasande and the NYU Center for Investigation of Environmental Hazards, which demonstrated that these exposures contribute to substantial disease burdens, premature mortality, and billions of dollars in healthcare costs, our laboratory operates as a shared resource within NYU Langone's Division of Advanced Research Technologies (DART), which is part of the Office of Science and Research (OSR). We provide precise chemical analysis to support studies on environmental exposures and their health impacts.

The Research Software Engineering (RSE) Core is a resource launched by NYU Langone, based in the Information Technology department in close collaboration with the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. We design, develop, optimize, and customize software to accelerate research.

Provides advanced resources in structural biology. Offers access to instruments, including multiple transmission electron microscopes (TEMs) and cryo-FIB/SEM systems. Trains scientists, from beginners to experienced users, on sample preparation (plunge/high-pressure freezers) and advanced EM techniques. Helps researchers solve the 3D structures of proteins and cellular components at atomic resolution.

Shared instrumentation facility at the American Museum of Natural History with tools for X-ray tomography, electron microscopy, confocal microscopy, light microscopy and image analysis. Provides expert assistance in the use of all lab equipment.

The Center for Translational Pathology (CTP) will provide investigators with high quality, state of the art, and cost-effective tissue-based and clinical laboratory assays, biospecimens, consultative pathology services, multiparametric imaging, mass spectrometry, molecular pathology, mouse models and advanced cellular therapeutics for basic, translational, and clinical research. Originally established in 2007 as the Translational Research Program (TRP) within the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, the TRP has since grown and expanded to include numerous core facilities within the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. This new center will be a pillar for the Meyer Cancer Center and its designation as an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Facility serves as central facility for human organoid technology to accelerate organoid-based scientific discovery. Provides human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) derived as well as tissue derived cells and organoids.
