Protocol Development/Clinical Trial Coordination
Resources:
Description:The Center provides coordinated evaluation of function, anatomy and pathology of research models of the auditory and vestibular systems and promotes related translational and clinical research. Four subcores (Functional Testing, Histology, Microscopy & Digital Imaging, and Clinical/Translational Research) provide services to both member and non-member researchers. The RCAVS was designed to conduct rapid functional and anatomical evaluations of new research models that might impact the auditory and vestibular sciences. New genetic manipulations are regularly screened for functional deficits and the anatomic correlates of those deficits. Due to the sensitivity of auditory and vestibular testing, any models suspected to impact development/growth, neural/synaptic transmission and aging are encouraged to consider evaluation by our center.
