Core provides advanced instrumentation, consultation, and support for flow cytometry, light and electron microscopy, and small-animal imaging. Services include confocal microscopy, multi-plex whole slide imaging, conventional, widefield epifluorescence microscopy, Electron Microscopy, in vivo small animal PET, SPECT, CT, X-Ray, white light, fluorescence, and bioluminescence imaging, in vitro and in vivo X-Ray irradiation, multi-parameter flow cytometry, including conventional and spectral technologies, cell sorting, imaging cytometry, and advanced data analysis support.

Provides on request resources including Data: clinical and cognitive measures as well as MRI and amyloid imaging scans; Tissue: frozen brain tissue, paraffin brain sections, antemortem CSF, DNA, fibroblast, dermal fibroblasts, plasma (fasting and non-fasting) and iPSC; Participants: eligible participants may be invited to enroll in research of other investigators after appropriate review. Researchers can use the request portal to review Center guidelines and policies; view available data and tissue; access data tables and codebooks; and submit request for resources.

The Lipidomics Core Facility conducts comprehensive analysis of cellular lipids that encompass fatty acyls, glycerolipids, glycerophospholipids, sphingolipids, sterol lipids, and prenol lipids

The Genome Engineering and Stem Cell Center (GESC@MGI) supports researchers on and off WashU campus with up-to-date technologies to meet their cell and animal model needs. On the genome engineering front, we offer a variety of services tailored to best fit investigators individual preference, ranging from CRISPR reagents with or without validation, to cancer/iPS cell line modification or animal model creation. We work closely with mouse cores from design, reagent validation to genotyping, process improvement and troubleshooting, when necessary. We also provide next-generation sequencing (NGS) based human cell authentication and NGS-based genotyping services and general molecular biology assistance. On the iPSC front, we culture, bank and store primary fibroblasts and renal epithelial cells from patient samples for investigators, and iPSC reprogramming service is provided from fibroblasts, RECs as well as peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). We also provide differentiation services on a growing list of cell types. The GESC@MGI aims at helping investigators convert their ideas to useful models quickly and cost-effectively.

Microarray: expression and genotyping - all platforms

The mission of the Microscopy, Imaging & Cytometry Resources (MICR) core is to enhance the peer reviewed funded research activities of WSU investigators whose research requires microscopy, imaging resources, flow cytometry, and related techniques.

The Center provides coordinated evaluation of function, anatomy and pathology of research models of the auditory and vestibular systems and promotes related translational and clinical research. Four subcores (Functional Testing, Histology, Microscopy & Digital Imaging, and Clinical/Translational Research) provide services to both member and non-member researchers. The RCAVS was designed to conduct rapid functional and anatomical evaluations of new research models that might impact the auditory and vestibular sciences. New genetic manipulations are regularly screened for functional deficits and the anatomic correlates of those deficits. Due to the sensitivity of auditory and vestibular testing, any models suspected to impact development/growth, neural/synaptic transmission and aging are encouraged to consider evaluation by our center.
