The Bio-Imaging and Analysis Facility at Cincinnati Children\'s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) provides access to and training on state-of-the-art optical microscopes and associated equipment. The facility and expertise are available to investigators at CCHMC and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The BIAF is a Nikon Center of Excellence. This agreement combines the biological expertise of CCHMC with Nikon’s technical proficiency to further new developments in biomedical sciences to improve child health.

The Animal Behavior Core (ABC) offers behavioral phenotyping of rodent models as well as characterizing the nervous system function in mouse and rat models through behavioral assays.

The Microbiome Facility at CCHF provides metagenomic sequencing. The laboratory has assisted laboratories throughout the region with metagenomic studies since 2014 and was formally established as a shared facility in July 2019. ​The Microbiome Facility is staffed and equipped to provide services ranging from shotgun metagenomics, and RNA sequencing.

The mission of the MEG Facility is to develop research protocols to evaluate normal and pathologic brain processes in children and adolescents that could ultimately translate to clinical applications evaluating brain function.

The media lab facility is an on-site medical animation and illustration production studio that services the entire hospital. Our team can work directly with you to create visual aids for use in presentations, publications, patient and family education, and much more.

The facility is an analytical laboratory occupying ~6000 sq ft. Our lab utilizes HPLC, FAB-MS, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and LC-HRMS for screening and quantification of metabolites and drugs, development of targeted assays, and for biomarker discovery using metabolomics and lipidomics analysis

INP is responsible for the pharmacy activities for all clinical trials conducted at CCHMC and currently manages drug inventory and dispensing for over 300 active protocols.​

Serving the CCHMC and UC research community since 2001, the Genomics Sequencing Facility is an institutional resource for genomics services and data generation utilizing state-of-the-art instrumentation and methods. With more than 50 years of laboratory experience by our staff, we are proficient in many types of library preparations, size selection, library pooling, sequencing and genotyping techniques. We have recently launched a new sftp file download server for NGS results files to help facilitate rapid file downloads for large numbers of files, or large file sizes.

DMAC is to provide a seamless “start-to-finish” approach to study implementation, to help researchers obtain the highest quality data and analysis to answer their research questions. We provide collaboration and consulting to investigators at CCHMC, to other academic and research institutions, and to industry partners.​

The Comprehensive Rodent and Radiation Shared Facility, housed in the Division of Experimental Hematology and Cancer Biology, offers a number of services for researchers exploring cancer systems through animal models.

The CPF is in the Translational Trial and Support Laboratories within the Division of Experimental Hematology and Cancer Biology. The CPF supports the processing and testing of hematologic and other tissue samples from donor or patient populations such as disease specific repositories or specific research studies requiring sample processing. Samples are provided fresh or cryopreserved according to availability, unprocessed or with further lab processing.

The Cell Manipulation Facility (CMF) is part of the Translational Trial and Support Laboratoriess within the Division of Experimental Hematology and Cancer Biology. The CMF supports the development, scale up and processing of innovative cell-based therapies for Phase I/II clinical studies.​

The evaluation of cardiovascular function and structure can be performed by a combination of cardiac ultrasound imaging, vascular ultrasound imaging and non-imaging vascular testing.

The Bionutrition Research Facility works with investigators to obtain and analyze high-quality nutrition and body composition data from study participants. Our staff and facilities are located in the Schubert Research Clinic at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. We provide diet assessment services for studies at CCHMC and UC, as well as around the region and the country.

The Vector Production Facility (VPF) is a cleanroom facility that is compliant with FDA\'s current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) for the manufacturing of viral vectors in support of early phase clinical trials. The facility has been in operation since 2005.

The TTDSL was established in 2003 as part of the Translational Facility Laboratories (TCL). The goal of the TTDSL was to provide the facilities and expertise to support assay development from technology developed in academic laboratories. Broadly speaking, this could be actual clinical diagnostic assays or technology that requires customized assays for characterization and safety testing. In order to accomplish our goals, the TTDSL is CLIA certified (as part of the hospital’s clinical laboratory infrastructure) but also adheres to early phase current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) to support investigational new drug (IND) applications.

The Transgenic Animal and Genome Editing (TAGE) Facility was established in 1994 as the first shared facility at CCHMC. Since then, we have completed hundreds of chimeric mouse projects and thousands of transgenic lines in mice and rabbits.

The RFCF is a shared facility serving the Cincinnati Children’s research communities and surrounding institutions by providing a central location for flow cytometry instrumentation, training and education.

Human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) are self-renewing cells that can be differentiated into any human cell type, including 3D organoids

The NBMF facilitates broad spectrum and targeted metabolomics analysis of polar components, as well as methods for targeted analysis of metabolites, with experience in the analysis of cells, organ tissue (e.g. liver, muscle, intestines, tongue, and tumor), biological fluids (e.g. urine, serum, plasma, amniotic fluid and saliva), and exhaled breath collected from human subjects or animal models.

The Office for Clinical and Translational Research (OCTR) functions as a one-stop clinical research support center for investigators and industry sponsors.
