The In vivo Translational Imaging Shared Resource, or IVTISR, provides access to a broad range of in vivo imaging technologies including molecular imaging, optical imaging, quantitative physiologic and anatomic imaging, and whole-body PET/CT scanning in humans and animals. It also provides targeted imaging probes and tracers as well as expertise in planning, executing and analyzing in vivo imaging studies. The UC Davis Flow Cytometry Shared Resource operates cell sorting and analytic cytometry equipment on the main academic campus in Davis, CA and in a separate facility at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA. We offer multiparameter cell sorting and analytic cytometry services, instrumentation training and comprehensive flow cytometry training for UCD, UC, and industry scientists. Comprehensive, week long flow cytometry training is offered each July, with lecture and laboratory instruction - this course is open to all interested participants and typically costs less than $1,000.00 for a full week of training. Single cell sorting and with phenotypic indexing is offered, as well as single cell targeted gene transcription analysis and genotyping on the Fluidigm BioMark platform. Additional cytometry services include tissue and plate scanning for cytometry of tissue samples and adherent cultures on the Compucyte Laser Scanning Cytometer. The Immune Monitoring, Analysis and Diagnostics Shared Resource, or IMADSR, is a CLIA-certified laboratory established to provide scientific support to investigators conducting clinical studies in humans, preclinical studies in animals and/or studies in veterinary medicine. It is well suited to conduct the immunology-based assays needed to monitor patients in clinical immunotherapy trials, but the IMADSR also offers a variety of different molecular and cellular assays for investigators in different fields, including custom assays designed to meet specific needs. Investigators at any of the University of California campuses, as well as outside investigators in industry and academia, are encouraged to contact the shared resource for research support.

The Molecular Pharmacology Shared Resource, or MPSR, provides services to support the development and implementation of clinical trials at the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. The MPSR oversees high-quality collection, processing, and analysis of clinical specimens (typically but not exclusively blood specimens) for pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics studies. The MPSR also conducts preclinical modeling of novel anti-cancer agents to test hypotheses and develop the scientific rationale required for translation of laboratory concepts into clinical trials, including the assessment of DM/PK/PD properties.

The Advanced Materials Characterization and Testing laboratory (AMCaT) is a shared resource facility that is available to all interested users on and off campus. AMCaT supports a wide variety of electron microscopes, including aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopes for the characterization of both hard and soft materials. These capabilities are complemented by state-of-the-art sample preparation equipment, high-resolution x-ray diffractometer, and a variety of different optical microscopes and image analysis software. AMCaT embraces and supports a multi-disciplinary user base of undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral and faculty researchers at UC Davis and plays a key role in numerous research projects and lab classes.

The UC Davis Proteomics Facility offers protein analysis via amino acid analysis, Edman sequencing and LC-MS/MS including protein identification, post-translational modification discovery, label free quantitation and targeted proteomics. The facility utilizes state of the art instrumentation, including two Thermo Scientific Q-Exactive Mass spectrometers. Our group utilizes open source software and uses techniques and protocols that are made publicly available. Using open source software allows users to analyze their own data without significant monetary investment. We also offer data analysis and sample preparation classes to UC Davis and the community at large, including a week long hands on summer short course (see http://goo.gl/iScMe ). Our group operates as an open core facility with the Genome Center on the UC Davis campus
