The Bioinformatics Shared Resource (BIOINF) provides state-of-the-art bioinformatics assistance for the design, analysis and interpretation of genomics, proteomics and other high-resolution, high-throughput-based studies for better understanding of cancer biology, thereby facilitating translation of cancer omics discoveries to cancer treatment.
We direct the design of high-throughput experiments, raw omics data processing, data analysis and interpretation, data mining and integration, assist in the design and deployment of appropriate informatics infrastructure for data sharing and management, review and prepare grants and manuscripts, software evaluation, new method and database development, and provide bioinformatics education and hands-on training for investigators. Our expertise ensures that the yield of useful information from the scientific studies conducted at Roswell Park is maximized while costs are minimized.

The Gene Targeting and Transgenic Shared Resource (GeTT) enables investigators to modify the murine genome for the systematic dissection of the genetic, molecular, cellular and physiological mechanisms underlying complex biological processes.
Traditionally, this has been done by creation of transgenics through pronuclear microinjection and knocking out or knocking in genes via mouse ES cell technologies.
This is no longer the case given the recent advances of genome-editing tools such as ZFNs, TALENs and most recently CRISPR/Cas, which allow for a targeted approach by injection directly into the embryo.
In general, these methods are proving to be faster and more efficient than traditional means.
In addition, the core also provides investigators with mouse reproductive services such as cryopreservation of valuable mouse strains and IVF (in vitro fertilization) to aid in mouse cohort generation, especially when faced with increasing complex genotype demands.

The Biomolecular Shared Resource provides a suite of services that enable our staff to address a variety of molecularly based research projects. There are three Facilities within the Resource: DNA Sequencing, Proteomics/Mass Spectrometry and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR). Our services include Sanger DNA sequencing and fluorescence based DNA fragment analysis; mass spectrometry based proteomics and metabolomics, and NMR spectroscopy. We assist staff in understanding the applications and limitations of various techniques to their research programs through consultation and discussion and development of pilot feasibility studies, as necessary.

The Center for Immunotherapy, ISO9001:2008 registered Therapeutic Cell Production Facility (TCPF) at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute was designed to fulfill US FDA cGMP requirements in support of cell therapy clinical trials. Occupying 2574 ft2, the TCPF multiuse cleanroom suite is made up of three ISO 7 production rooms and one ISO 7 flex production room. Additionally, an onsite QC laboratory can perform requisite testing for cell therapy investigational products. Suite and production room entry is controlled via an electronic card access security system, with centralized monitoring of air and equipment. The anterooms and production rooms house refrigerators and low-temperature freezers with appropriate data logging capabilities and are connected to a central monitoring system. Dedicated TCPF personnel are responsible for maintaining the cleanroom and equipment as required by the FDA. The TCPF is fully equipped to provide broad and comprehensive cell processing capabilities. The TCPF has expertise to assist with a variety of cell manufacturing needs.

Our goal is to establish a fully integrated core facility for proteomics analyses at Roswellpark Cancer Institute. There are a variety of electrophoresis based, HPLC-based and mass spectrometry based capabilities for proteomics applications and these can be variously configured depending on the needs of the particular project.Proteomics Resources interacts with other proteomics facilities that are currently being developed at the University of Buffalo. Together the two resources provide essential support for proteomics projects in Buffalo. These resources also provide training and educational programs to faculty, staff and students of RPCI and SUNY at Buffalo. http://www.roswellpark.org/proteomics
