The Antibody and Bioresource Core Facility supports researchers at both The Rockefeller University and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center by making it easier for them to:
1.) Develop new monoclonal antibodies that meet their experimental needs through any combination of these services:
... Consultation
... Immunization of mice, rats and Armenian hamsters with haptens, proteins, cells as well as via a genetic immunization approach
... Fusion (B cell immortalization and selection for hybridomas)
... Maintenance of thousands of fresh hybridomas while the researcher screens for the functionality they need
... ELISA screening
... Freezing and storing positive cultures
... Cloning / subcloning
... Freezing and storing fusions for future screening
2.) Obtaining monoclonal antibodies from established hybridomas as:
... Bioreactor Supernatants:
...... 0.5 to 4.0 mg monoclonal antibody / ml
...... Purity ranges from 20 to 80%
...... Contains:
.......... Hybridoma-SFM (Invitrogen)
.......... 0.5% fetal bovine serum (prescreened for ultra low bovine Ig levels)
.......... Cell debris (from the hybridoma)
……... NO sodium azide is added
...... Sterile
...... Minimum order = 5 mg
… Purified monoclonal antibodies:
...... 1.0 to 10.0 mg monoclonal antibody / ml
...... Purity = 95% or better
...... Buffer = PBS (NO sodium azide is added)
...... Sterile
...... Minimum order = 1 mg
3.) Establishing if cells lines are contaminated with mycoplasma.
4.) Obtaining cell lines developed at The Rockefeller University and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
