Several Faculty members use the laboratory on a fee per service basis. The laboratory manager is available to aid new workers in the field with crystallization, data collection and analysis. Fees charged to outside users are larger but cannot exceed those of private companies operating in Iowa.
Upgrades to software are being sought.
Services are offerred outside of Iowa State University
Facility has RU200 generator with Osmic optics, an R-AXIS Iv++ detector and an Oxford low temperature system. There are microscopes for crystal mounting and two refrigeratore for sample storage. Several computers are available for data analysis. D*trek is the most commonly used integration package. CCP4 and COOT are the solution package available.
