Description:
Translational Applications Service Center (TASC) is a comprehensive shared resource center for conducting interdisciplinary studies to accelerate the pace of advances in patient therapy and diagnosis by enhancing basic research in the early stages of translation. TASC provides expert technical assistance and support to support to obtain and analyze data from molecular , proteomic, and genomic research studies. It also offers its users PeggySue, a SimpleWestern platform from ProteinSimple: a state of the art nano-fluidic Immunoassay (NIA) technology for defining protein signatures and measuring proteomic response to targeted therapies in rare clinical specimens. Services provided by TASC include: * Charge (NIA) and Size-Based (SimpleWestern) Protein Separation Nano ImmunoAssay on PeggySue * Assay development and optimization, set-up, data analysis * Sample processing: DNA/RNA/protein isolation from tissue, cells, paraffin block sections, fine needle aspirates (FNAs) * Blood processing for NIA (PBMC isolation, serum, plasma) * Cell culture services: Culturing primary cells and cell-lines * Assay development for detection and validation of Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) from blood. * Cryopreservation and sample banking * Technical consulting/individual training
