This facility provides services necessary for investigators to create, rederive or cryopreserve mouse models.

Specific services offered include: CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing (experimental design service and/or consulting also provided); pronuclear Injection; ES Cell Injection; In Vitro Fertilization; rederivation of mouse lines to specific pathogen free status; embryo and sperm cryopreservation and recovery.

GEMMA Core offers transgenic and genotyping services, phenotyping, behavioral and motor assessments (including but not limited to Barnes maze, Y-maze, rotarod, DigiGait, open field, novel object, Von Frey mechanical sensitivity, socialization), magnetic resonance imaging (Scintica M3 small animal MRI), mouse colony management services, and specialized mouse compound administration (including stereotaxic intracerebral ventricular injections) and dissection services (including blood collection, CSF collection, and specific brain region dissections). Consultation and training is also available.
