The Flow Cytometry Facility (FCF) is the centralised service facility of the Medical Faculty of RWTH Aachen University for flow cytometry. The FCF supports scientists and doctors at RWTH Aachen University as well as external users in the purification and analysis of (cell) samples using flow cytometry. FACS-based cell sorting and analysis form the core of the services offered by the FCF. The FCF supports you in all steps of your FACS-based experiments: from the selection of the experimental approach, the provision of proven protocols and reagents, to the performance of cell sorting as a service, as well as equipment training and assistance with the FACS-based analysis of your samples. In addition, the FCF supports you in the evaluation of your FACS data and also provides digital licences for common analysis software. The Flow Cytometry Facility is part of the centralised and cost-efficient research infrastructure managed by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Clinical Research (IZKF), which provides shigh-quality technical and scientific services, expertise and access to state-of-the-art research equipment to scientists of the Faculty of Medicine, the RWTH and external users on a partial cost recovery basis. The use of the Flow Cytometry Facility is regulated by an operating and usage concept and is organized and managed using a core facility management software.

The Brain Imaging Facility, BIF for short, of the IZKF Aachen is the central institution for the conception, execution and evaluation of functional magnetic resonance imaging studies, fMRI, and positron emission tomography studies, PET, within the University Hospital of the Medical Faculty of RWTH Aachen University. At the end of 1997, the Brain Imaging Facility was established as an interdisciplinary subproject of the neuroscientific disciplines within the IZKF Aachen in order to provide the technical and personnel requirements for the performance of functional imaging studies and to coordinate the respective measurements.
