Description:
The CryoEM core facility is dedicated to the structural characterization of biological samples and microcrystals using cryo-electron microscopy (CryoEM). The core can run the main three CryoEM workflows, including, single-particle CryoEM, Cryo-electron tomography (CryoET), and Micro crystal electron diffraction (MicroED). We have state-of-the-art instrumentation that includes a TFS 200kV Glacios CryoTEM, equipped with a zero-loss Selectris Energy Filter, a Flacon 4i Direct Electron Detector, and a Ceta-D camera. In addition, the facility counts with a Pelco Easy Glow Discharger and two vitrification robots, the TFS Vitrobot Mark IV, and the Leica EM GP2. We also present all the capacities for storing and shipping samples. Furthermore, our facility has a dedicated Data storage Server and a Live processing workstation for our users‘ convenience, including the data processing suites RELION and CryoSPARC available at our campus supercomputer Swan cluster at the Holland Computer Center.
