Finding Regional Facilities

On each facility's profile page, on the left sidebar under Collaboration, select the "Find Regional Facilities" option. This allows you to find other regional facilities within a certain distance from the core profile you are viewing.

Enter in the distance and distance unit (miles or kilometers) and click Search. Results appear below. If there are no results for your search, increase the distance from the facility. Distances are measured "as the crow flies" not in driving distance.

Filtering Results

If you click the "Filter Search Results" button over the results, three filters appear for narrowing down your search results: resources, services, and equipment. By default, all are checked. Search filters always reflect the number of options for any given result set. If you de-select all the filters, its the same as running a search on distance alone.

The best use of filters is to deselect all the options, then select one or two options and apply the filter.

Technical note: the regional search and the associated institutional search only appear on profiles associated with a ROR id (which is most institutions).
