Managing Core Subscriptions in the CoreMarketplace

What is it?

If you wish to know when a core profile gets updated, you can subscribe to an email notification. For example, if you want to know every time a core adds a publication or changes an instrument, the CoreMarketplace can send you an email notification when it happens.

How does it work?

Each core profile has a Subscribe button in the upper right corner of their profile. Once you click that you'll see a window where you can decide which sections of the profile you're interested in. Sections include: Description, Specializations, Instrumentation, and Publications. You can also opt in to more core newsletters managed outside of the CoreMarketplace, should the core profile that service.

Okay, walk me through it.

When you first set up the subscription you are presented with all the options. After you select and submit your choices, a verification link is sent to your email address. Inside that message is a link to verify. Clicking on that brings you back to the CM and verifies your subscription. Until your subscription is verified, you will not receive any subscription emails from the CM nor will you be included in the core newsletter opt in list. This prevents unintended signups as much as possible.

What if I want to change my settings?

Once you've subscribed to a core profile and verified the subscription, you can manage your subscription settings. You get into the management page using the same Subscribe button on any core profile page. Instead of filling out the subscribe section, enter your email in the manage section. You will be emailed a link to the management page. Again, this is to protect you from unintended signups.

On the Management page, you can change which sections you want for any subscribed core. You can remove a core subscription. Or, you can remove yourself entirely from the subscription service. We won't take it personally.

I have a Core Profile. How can I see who has subscribed?

On your Profile Edit Page, you'll notice a new section at left, towards the bottom, called "Subscribers." Anyone who has subscribed to your profile is listed there. If they have opted in to core profile newsletters, you will also see their email address listed beside their name.

There is also a section for adding a custom message to your subscribers that will be included with every subscription email they receive from your core. As it's included with every email, should you choose to use this feature, try to keep it brief.

How often will I get emailed?

Email digests are packaged up and emailed once a week, providing your core has updated their profile during that time.
